The Liberty women's tennis team will begin its journey at the 2017 ITA Atlantic Regional Championships on Friday at Virginia Tech.

The five-day event will be held at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Va. and will feature 25 teams. The first day of competition, featuring two rounds of singles qualifying and the round of 64 doubles, will begin on Friday at 9 a.m.

Results from each day of the tournament, as well as recap of the day's action, will be available on at the conclusion of each day of play.

Liberty will be sending four players to compete at the event – senior Evangeline Crist, junior Anna Dollar, junior Rebekah Anderson and junior Ashley Bongart.

The Lady Flames' doubles pairing of senior Evangeline Crist and junior Anna Dollar are the No. 15 seed in doubles. Crist and Dollar became the first Liberty women's tennis duo to reach the semifinals of the ITA Atlantic Regional, winning three matches in the process, including an 8-5 upset of Maryland's third-seeded duo of Ekaterina Tour and Arnelle Sullivan in 2016.

Crist and Dollar will receive a bye on Friday and open doubles play on Saturday at 9 a.m. Anderson and Bongart will square off with West Virginia's Lyn Yuen Choo and Paula Goetz on Friday at 3 p.m.

In singles, Anderson is currently an alternate for the qualifying draw. Crist will meet Duquense's Julianne Herman in a singles bout on Saturday in the main draw round of 64, while Dollar will take on Old Dominion's Holly Hutchinson in the round of 64. Bongart will battle against Navy's Amanda Keller to open her singles slate.

Liberty Player Breakdown
Evangeline Crist
Crist (2-1 singles, 3-0 doubles) is off to another strong start in her final campaign at Liberty. The senior captain is currently tied for second place all time in Liberty Lady Flames women's tennis history with 69 singles victories. The Lilburn, Ga., native also ranks third in school history with 77 doubles wins.

Anna Dollar
Dollar holds a 3-0 mark in singles and 1-2 mark in doubles in the early stages of her junior season. The Lancaster, Pa., native owns 44 career singles triumphs, ranking just outside of the top 10 in program history. She is also on the cusp of the top 10 for doubles wins with 46 victories.

Ashley Bongart
Bongart, a transfer from Tennessee, is off to a solid start in her first year as a Lady Flame. The Bradenton, Fla., native is 2-1 in singles and 1-2 in doubles.

On Sept. 17 at the South Carolina Fall Invitational, Bongart won a thrilling three-set match over Middle Tennessee State's Marta Perris Herrero (3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6)).

Rebekah Anderson
Hailing from Fullerton, Calif., Anderson earned a singles and doubles win at the season-opening South Carolina Fall Invitational, Sept. 15-17.

The junior's singles win came in three sets over North Florida's Eva Nyikos (6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-5)) on Sept. 15 in Columbia, S.C.
