Schools Named CCSA Diver of Week

Liberty junior Amy Schools has been named CCSA Women's Diver of the Week, after completing her first collegiate competition last weekend in Lawrence, Kan.

Schools is the fourth Lady Flame in program history to earn CCSA Diver of the Week honors, and first since teammate Jenna Joyal was honored on Oct. 11, 2016. Brooke Fox and Courtney Fox both received the award during the 2015-16 season. Her award is the 1st weekly CCSA honor for the Liberty swimming & diving team in program history, including five Diver of the Week mentions and 16 Swimmer of the Week awards.

Hailing from Clinton, Md., Schools contested both the one-meter and three-meter diving events at Liberty's dual meet at Kansas, last weekend. She placed fourth in one-meter diving, scoring 155.03 points. She then took fourth place in the three-meter with a score of 126.38. Both of those scores now rank fifth on Liberty's all-time top performers list for diving.

Liberty (1-1, 1-0 CCSA) will next compete in the Virginia Tech Duals, Oct. 20 at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center. That meet will see Liberty take on Virginia Tech, North Carolina, VMI and Queens.
