Liberty won 11 of its 13 match on day two of the South Carolina Fall Invitational, Saturday.

The Liberty women's tennis squad posted an 8-1 mark in singles on Saturday at the Carolina Tennis Center before claiming three of four doubles bouts on day two of the South Carolina Fall Invitational to post an 11-2 overall mark.

"We learned yesterday that we didn't bring enough focus or intensity to the courts, and the result was a mediocre day," said Liberty Women's Tennis Head Coach Jeff Maren. "It was great to see our girls learning and then adjusting their games and attitudes from one day to the next. I was very proud of them."

Liberty's impressive singles play featured a sweep of seven matches against Mercer opponents. Junior Lara Soares picked up her first victory as a Lady Flame, defeating Mercer's Katie Sidor in straight sets (6-1, 6-1).

Maria Medina also needed just two sets to take down the Bears' Grace Korta (6-3, 6-0) for her second win in as many days. After needing a tiebreaker to take down Celine Schepers in the first set, Liberty freshman Polina Miroshnichenko cruised, 6-0, in the second set for a 7-6, 6-0 victory.

Junior Anna Dollar claimed her match against Mercer's Lucia Guitierrezz, 6-1, 6-2, while senior Evangeline Crist scored a 6-0, 6-4 defeat of Maria Mottet. Grace Hashiguchi notched her first career victory at Liberty, a dominating, 6-1, 6-0 effort.

A day after playing a three-set match, Eugenia Camacho made quick work of the Bears' Justyna Zabinski, 6-1, 6-0.

On Saturday morning, Liberty's Ashley Bongart collected a 6-2, 6-1 win against Middle Tennessee State's Constanza Magazzini.

After squaring off against North Florida in singles on Friday, the Lady Flames took on the Ospreys during Saturday's doubles session. Soares and Medina emerged victorious, 6-2, while Crist and Hashiguchi won, 6-0.

Liberty's pairing of Anderson and Bongart bested Marshall's Ana Marhuenda and Marija Bogicevic, 6-2.

The three-day invitational will conclude on Sunday with individual championship matchups for singles and doubles based on point accumulation.
