Liberty Game Notes
Liberty women's soccer is in search of its first win of the season as they travel to Ft. Myers, Fla. to compete in the FGCU Tournament. The Lady Flames will participate in two games at the FGCU Soccer Complex where they will first take on Florida Atlantic before squaring off the host, FGCU, to close out the week.
Liberty is coming off a game where they faced one of the nation's top programs, in Virginia, where they were able to hold scoreless for 64 minutes before eventually falling in a 2-0 loss. During this challenging schedule to open up the season, head coach Lang Wedmeyer has been able get 25 players on the field including five freshmen. Playing in every game in her freshman campaign has been Lissi Gordon while Cora Duininck has seen game action in three games and was the first freshman to earn a start.
Liberty looks for its third straight Big South title, which would be a first in Big South history.
Liberty has not had two ties in a season since 2012.
Liberty has attempted at least 20 shots in two of its three games this season.
Liberty was picked first in the Big South Preseason Poll.
Jennifer Knoebel was named the Big South Preseason Attacking Player of the Year.
