About three months before Liberty tips off its 2017-18 women's basketball season, freshman wing Bridgette Rettstatt took some time to chat with Nick Pierce of the Liberty Flames Sports Network.
Rettstatt, the younger sister of former Lady Flame Audrey Rettstatt, graduated as the all-time leading scorer at Worthington Christian High School, located just outside Columbus, Ohio. The Ohio Division III Co-State Player of the Year as a junior, Rettstatt averaged over 23 points per game during each of her last two seasons. Rettstatt also high jumped 5-8 to finish as the state runner-up in 2017.
Rettstatt is one of four new Lady Flames who will join the team in 2017-18, along with fellow freshmen Ashtyn Baker and Apilyn Bonny and junior Melis Ucar. Additionally, sophomore transfers Ria Gulley (Indiana) and Emily Lytle (Little Rock) will each sit out the season before becoming eligible to play in 2018-19.
