As the days of summer carry on, the Liberty men's basketball newcomers continue to settle in Lynchburg as they develop chemistry on and off the court. LFSN's Alan York sat down with freshman Brendan Newton to discuss adjusting to life as a Liberty Flame.

Throughout the interview, Newton talks about making the transition moving from Roanoke to Lynchburg. Newton comes to Liberty as one of the top talents from the state of Virginia as the 7-2 center was a 2017 McDonald's All-American nominee. Throughout his career at Faith Christian School, Newton scored over 2,200 career points, pulled down 1,548 rebounds while also recording 579 blocks.

At Faith Christian, Newton averaged 17.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.3 blocks per game. In his senior campaign, Newton was an ABC-13 Full Court Press Player of the Year nominee. Throughout his career, Newton was a three-time Virginia Association of Christian Athletics (VACA) State Player of the Year and a Region Player of the Year.
