To give Liberty's football players a break from the grind of summer workouts, the Flames offensive coaching staff organized the inaugural LU Offense Home Run Debry in June.
The late afternoon event was hosted at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium, giving Liberty's football players a chance to swing for the fences during a healthy round of competition among their teammates.
After several rounds of balls flying out of the park, a rising star on Liberty's roster claimed the title with freshman DJ Stubbs taking home the event's inaugural crown.
Liberty's summer workouts will come to an end later this month and official practice will get underway on Aug. 1. The Flames will open their 2017 season at Baylor on Sept. 2 and host their first home game of the season at Williams Stadium on Sept. 9 against Morehead State.
