With the Flames preparing for their annual spring game, head coach Turner Gill took time to meet with the local media on Monday to talk about his team's progress this spring.
Liberty held its third closed scrimmage of the spring, last Saturday, at Williams Stadium. During Gill's session with the media, he noted that both his offensive and defensive units excelled during the Saturday morning workout.
After committing 10 or 11 turnovers during the Flames' first scrimmage earlier this spring, Liberty's offense finished last Saturday's workout without a giveaway and scored once on a touchdown pass to redshirt junior wide receiver B.J. Farrow. Liberty's defense held its offensive counterparts in check most of the day, finishing the scrimmage with two sacks and two additional tackles for a loss.
Liberty will hold its annual spring football game on Saturday at Williams Stadium. Kickoff for the intrasquad scrimmage is slated for Noon with free admission to the event.
