The game of basketball brought Julius Nwosu from Nigeria to the United States where he was able to show off his skills playing for the Liberty men's basketball program. A successful career as a Flame led to Nwosu having his jersey retired and playing in the NBA and 14 countries across the world. The Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) caught up with Nwosu in the latest edition of Game On.
Being from a small village in Nigeria, Nwosu played multiple sports including soccer and his first passion volleyball. At the age of 14 Nwosu found a passion playing basketball as a member of his village inspired him to focus on the game and it paid off while Nwosu attended a mission.
Coming from Nigeria to Lynchburg, Nwosu had to adjust to life in America as he struggled for the first couple of months in class while he was learning English. Once he was able to adjust to life in Lynchburg and continue to work on his craft, Nwosu thrived at Liberty that led to a playing career in the NBA and overseas.
