Quick Hits
•     Liberty begins the week with a 16-10 overall record and  4-2 mark in the Big South. The Flames took two       out of three games from Bethune-Cookman, this weekend at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
•    Liberty is 10-5 at Liberty Baseball Stadium in 2017.
•    Radford enters the week with a 12-15 overall record and a 3-3 mark in Big South play. 
•     Tuesday's meeting will be a non-conference game between the two teams. Liberty and Radford will meet         in a three-game Big South series at Radford, this weekend.
•     Liberty leads the all-time series between the two teams, 62-35. The Flames have faced the Highlanders the most of any team in program history.
•    The 2017 season is the first under head coach Scott Jackson.  Jackson, who was an assistant coach at                 Liberty in 2008, spent the past eight seasons as an assistant on head coach Mike Fox's staff at North                 Carolina.
 
Double Vision
Liberty enters this week among the national leaders in both doubles and double plays.  
 
Despite not hitting a two-bagger this past weekend, the Flames have 55 doubles and rank 37th nationally with 2.12 doubles per game. D.J. Artis leads the Flames with nine  doubles and is joined in top 10 in the Big South Conference by Sammy Taormina and Jake Barbee, who have eight two-baggers apiece.
 
Meanwhile, Liberty is 23rd in the country with 1.08 double plays per game. The Flames have turned 28 double plays, this season.
 
ERA Tops The Big South
Led by right-hander Caleb Evans, the Flames top the Big South Conference with a 3.36 team earned run average (ERA). Liberty's ERA is more than a run lower than Presbyterian, who is next in the conference, with a 4.66 ERA.
 
Evans is second in the Big South Conference and leads Liberty with a 1.59 ERA. The senior right-hander has given up eight earned runs over 45 1/3 innings. He leads the conference in wins with a 4-2 mark.
 
Also, the Liberty bullpen is enjoying a successful start to the 2017 season.  Flames relievers have combined to post a 2.30 ERA over 109.1 innings and hold a 10-1 record with three saves. The Liberty relief corps as a unit has struck out 118 batters and walked 31, a 3.8 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio.
