Texas State built an early 2-0 lead and held off a late Liberty rally, defeating the Lady Flames, 3-1, on Friday at Auburn's Jane B. Moore Field.

The Bobcats (12-3) run their winning streak to three games, including victories in the first two games of this weekend's Wilson/DeMarini Classic. The Lady Flames (9-7) will look to get back on the winning track, taking on No. 2/3 Auburn at 7 p.m. ET tonight.

Texas State's Jodi Paige Williams (4-2) earned the win with three innings of two-hit relief, striking out three. Randi Rupp worked a hitless seventh inning with two strikeouts, earning her first save.

Julia DiMartino (2-3) drew the loss, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits, with five walks and three strikeouts in the complete-game effort.

Texas State held a slight, 4-3, advantage in hits, while both teams recorded two errors. Kimberlin Naivar and Bailee Carter both drove in one run.

Three Lady Flames registered one hit apiece, with Deidra See hitting a double and Alexia Taylor going 1-for-3 with one RBI.

The Lady Flames put two runners on in the top of the first. Autumn Bishop reached on an error, and a two-out single by Emily Sweat put runners on the corners. Jaclyn Amader then flied out, ending the threat.

Texas State entered the scoring column during its second time up, as Corrina Liscano and Haleigh Davis hit back-to-back singles to lead off. After a sacrifice bunt, Carter plated Liscano with a sacrifice fly. Naivar then hit a two-out RBI single to make it 2-0, Bobcats.

Jasmeen Click drew a walk to start the third inning. However, a strikeout and a double play quickly brought the Lady Flames' time at bat to a close.

Liberty rallied for a run in the top of the fourth. An error and a walk put two runners on, before Williams came on in relief of starter Quincy Charleston. Amader then executed a sacrifice bunt, and Taylor hit an RBI groundout, narrowing the gap to 2-1. Williams struck out Taylor Hoffman for the third out.

See led off the fifth with a double down the left field line. A sacrifice bunt sent pinch runner Channing Cox to third. However, Williams escaped the jam, striking out Sarah Robertson and getting Autumn Bishop to fly out.

The Bobcats added a fifth-inning tally. Christiana McDowell drew a one-out walk, before an Ariel Ortiz single put runners on first and third. During a double-steal play, McDowell scored on an error for a 3-1 advantage.

Taylor hit a leadoff single in the top of the seventh inning, and Rupp then entered the circle in relief of Williams. Rupp nailed down the save, with two strikeouts and a groundout.
