While the Liberty softball team prepares for its weekend trip to Orlando, Fla., LFSN reporter Alan York had a chance to interview sophomore infielder Sarah Robertson.
Robertson, a Panama City, Fla., native, was named to the 2016 Big South All-Freshman Team after batting .302 a team-leading .450 slugging percentage last year. So far this season, Robertson has batted .344 while ranking second on the team with seven runs scored (tied) and eight RBI. Her four RBI against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 10 are to most in a single game by a Lady Flame so far in 2017.
Robertson and the Lady Flames (5-4) will compete in the Citrus Classic 1, held Friday through Sunday at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla. While in Florida, Liberty will face Oakland, Syracuse, No. 3/3 Florida, Ball State and Morgan State.
