Back-to-back double-figure games helped Liberty's Georgie Pacheco-Ortiz earned this week's Big South Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week honor.

The rookie ended the week averaging 12.0 points per game and 1.5 rebounds per contest in games against Furman and Princeton. He finished the pair of games shooting 56.3 percent from the floor (9-of-16), including 55.6 percent from three-point range (5-of-9).

Pacheco-Ortiz scored 10 points against Furman and 14 points against Princeton, marking his third and fourth career double-figure games. His 14 points against Princeton accounted for a new season best, surpassing a 13-point performance at William & Mary.

Against Princeton, Pacheco-Ortiz knocked down a deep three-pointer with 1:41 left to play, capping a 16-2 run for the Flames to get Liberty within a point of the lead, 63-62.

Pacheco-Ortiz has started in eight of the Flames' 10 games this season. The freshman is shooting 44.7 percent from the field (21-of-47) and 44.4 percent from three-point range (12-of-27). He ranks fourth on the team in scoring (7.1 points per game) and has made 85.0 percent of his free throw attempts (17-of-20).

Pacheco-Ortiz and the Flames return to the court on Friday night when they host Clarks Summit in the Vines Center for a 7 p.m. game. The contest will serve as Liberty's final home non-conference game of the year.
