After two days of competition, Liberty is currently in seventh place at the 2016 Frank Elm Invite, with round two taking place on Saturday at RU Aquatics Center.
The Lady Flames will enter the final day of the invitational with 480 points, just eight behind sixth-place Central Connecticut. Navy continues to lead, with 1,222.5 points, while Columbia is in second with 919 points. Northeastern (784), Rutgers (732.5) and Wagner (503) round out the top five.
Liberty's 200 medley relay opened the evening by placing eighth. The quartet of Rachel Hoeve, Prudence Rooker, Brittany Weiss and Hannah Baker clocked 1:44.66.
The evening session ended with Liberty's 800 free relay of Baker, Chelsea Pond, Elizabeth Magnusson and Ashlee Sall taking seventh place in 7:36.19. That time is sixth on Liberty's all-time top 10 performers list.
Rooker achieved Liberty's highest individual overall placing of the day, taking 10th in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:04.42 finals time. Ricki Lee Hodges earned 23th place, swimming 1:06.66 in the C Final, while Baker tied for 30th overall in 1:08.28. Morgan Weigner (1:09.15) and Taylor Lynch (1:09.93) both completed 100 breaststroke prelims.
Hannah Baker led a strong Liberty contingent in the 200 freestyle, earning 11th overall by swimming 1:53.39 in the B Final. Elizabeth Magnusson swam 1:54.09 in the morning before placing 16th at night in 1:57.11. Chelsea Pond (1:53.29) and Ashlee Sall (1:54.37) finished 18th and 21st, respectively. Morgan Noonan claimed 28th place with a time of 1:54.61 in the D Final, while Delia Weber's 1:55.14 was good for 30th. Shelby Black (1:57.29), Colleen Donlin (1:59.73) and Corrilynn Lynch (2:07.34) also competed in prelims of the 200 free.
Hoeve qualified for the B Final in the 100 backstroke with a 57.27 clocking, before taking 15th in the finals, 58.86. Victoria Tschoke swam 57.73 in the C Final, giving her 18th place, while Weiss came in 24th overall after going 58.89 during finals. Danielle Boothe garnered 30th position in 59.20. Ashley Mauzy (59.58), Siani Null (1:01.52), Caroline Allen (1:01.80) and Donlin all swam in prelims for the 100 back.
Weiss swam 58.70 in the 100 fly B Final, giving her 15th place overall. Alicia took 17th place, winning the C Final with a 57.42 effort. Black claimed 27th place in 58.06, while Ashley Mauzy's D Final swim of 58.54 was good for 30th place. Corrilynn Lynch swam 1:06.11 in qualifying rounds.
Taylor Lynch earned a spot in the D Final for the 400 IM, placing 28th overall in 4:38.30. That time ranks seventh on the program's top 10 performers list.
Liberty concludes its participation at the Frank Elm Invite, tomorrow. Day three of the invitational begins at 10 a.m., with 200 backstroke prelims. Tomorrow's finals session starts at 5 p.m. with 1650 free finals, and ends with the 400 free relay.
