Liberty will serve as the No. 2 seed for the 2016 Big South Volleyball Championship, which the Lady Flames will host, Friday through Sunday at the Vines Center.

The Lady Flames (16-12, 11-5 Big South) receive a bye into Saturday's semifinal round. On Saturday at 7 p.m., Liberty will face the winner of Friday's quarterfinal between No. 3 seed High Point and sixth-seeded UNC Asheville. On the other side of the bracket, No. 1 seed Radford awaits the winner of Friday's first quarterfinal between fourth-seeded Campbell and No. 5 seed Charleston Southern.

This is Liberty's highest seed since winning the 2012 Big South Volleyball Championship as the No. 1 seed. The Lady Flames have been seeded second just two times before, winning the 1999 title as the No. 2 seed before finishing as the 2009 runner-up.

Liberty will be hosting the Big South Volleyball Championship for the third time. The first two times, 2001 and 2007, the Lady Flames hoisted the championship trophy on their home Vines Center court.

The Lady Flames have won a Big South-record seven conference titles overall, with the last coming in 2012.

Radford (14-2) earned the Big South regular-season championship for the 10th time in program history, and third time in the last four seasons. Tournament host Liberty earned the second seed, going 11-5 in league play. Liberty and Big South preseason favorite High Point tied for second place with 11-5 records, but the Lady Flames won a tiebreaker based on percentage of sets won.

High Point will serve as the No. 3 seed. Campbell finished fourth, at 10-6, while Charleston Southern's 8-8 record has the Buccaneers seeded fifth. UNC Asheville and Winthrop ended the season tied for sixth at 6-10, but UNC Asheville earned the head-to-head tiebreaker with a win over the Eagles today.

The 2016 Big South Volleyball Championship opens Friday with two quarterfinal matches, and ends with the championship match on Sunday, Nov. 20. The Big South tournament champion earns an automatic qualification into the 2016 NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship. Sunday's championship match will be aired live on
