Blair and Brewington Move into Professional Ranks

Former Liberty basketball players Larry Blair and Dwight Brewington are both continuing their careers at the professional level.

Brewington (Lynn, Mass.), who left Liberty a year early to pursue professional basketball opportunities, was drafted in the third round (29th pick overall) of the CBA Draft by the Albany Patroons. Brewington, who averaged 14.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game for the Flames last season, was sandwiched by two members of the two-time defending national champion Florida Gators. The Patroons took Chris Richard in the second round and Lee Humphrey in the fourth round. In the Flames contest with Florida on Jan. 2, Brewington outscored Humphrey and Richard a combined, 15-12.

Blair (Charlotte, N.C.) signed a contract with Kecskemeti, a professional team in Hungary. Blair averaged 20.4 points per game as a senior, concluding his career as the most prolific scorer in the history of the Big South Conference, finishing with 2,211 career points.
