The Liberty women's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, hitting the road for a matchup with Gardner-Webb. Match time is at 7 p.m.
The Lady Flames are 5-2-4 all-time against the Runnin' Bulldogs. Last season, Gardner-Webb pulled off the upset at Osborne Stadium, edging Liberty, 1-0, with a goal off a free kick in the 28th minute.
Liberty enters Wednesday's meeting seeking its third straight victory, while the Runnin' Bulldogs are looking for their second conference win.

A Look at the Lady Flames The Liberty women's soccer team picked up its second win in Big South play in an emphatic way, Saturday afternoon at Osborne Stadium. The Lady Flames' attack found the net early and often against Presbyterian, defeating the Blue Hose, 7-1.
With the win, Liberty moves to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in conference action. The Lady Flames are now 9-1-1 all-time versus the Blue Hose.
Freshman forward Gabrielle Farrell paced the Liberty offense with two goals and two assists, followed by junior forward Jennifer Knoebel with two goals and one assist. Junior forward Isabella Habuda, sophomore midfielder Lauren Weygandt and senior forward Erika Troutman each had a marker for Liberty. Freshman defender Elisa Warren and redshirt sophomore midfielder Abigail Persson each chipped in one assist.
Redshirt senior goalkeeper Holly Van Noord played the opening 45 minutes for Liberty, making one save. Redshirt junior Tori Collar came in for the entire second period.
Van Noord has played in 11 games, this season. She is second in the conference in save percentage (.818) and goals-against average (1.16). The netminder is also tied for second in shutouts (3) and is third in total saves (54). For her career, Van Noord holds the Big South and school record in career shutouts with 36. She is No. 2 on Liberty's all-time career saves list with 351 stops. The redshirt senior also has the best career goals-against average (0.83) in program history.
For the third time this season, Farrell has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week. The forward previously won the honor in back-to-back weeks during the month of September. After another stellar week, the Langhorne, Pa., native now leads the Lady Flames in points (14), goals (5) and assists (4). She is currently tied for first in the Big South in total points with three other players.
Gardner-Webb at a Glance The Runnin' Bulldogs enter Wednesday's matchup sporting a 4-6-2 overall record and a 1-1 mark in Big South play. Prior to its 1-0 double overtime win over Presbyterian, last Wednesday, Gardner-Webb opened conference action against Longwood on Sept. 24, dropping the contest, 5-0.
Brandi Arey is pacing the team with four goals, followed by Samuelle Grove and Jessica Ferguson with three apiece.
Keely Brown has played all 12 games in goal for the Runnin' Bulldogs. She currently has 73 saves (.798) on the year and a goals-against average of 1.56.
Looking Ahead Due to the National Weather Service's forecasted path of Hurricane Matthew through the Charleston, S.C., area, Liberty's game against Charleston Southern has been postponed. The Lady Flames will return to Osborne Stadium on Oct. 12 to host Winthrop at 4 p.m. The match will stream live on the Liberty Flames Sports Network and the Big South Network.
