Recently, LFSN's Alan York sat down with each of the Liberty men's basketball team's incoming players. In the latest installment of the series, York chats with rising sophomore forward and Bradley transfer Scottie James.

James appeared in 30 contests for the Braves this past season, averaging 3.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. The Florida native finished fifth on the team with 11 blocked shots and sixth with nine three-pointers.

A three-year team captain at Tarpon Springs High School, James was a two-time MVP and he had his uniform number retired by the program after setting 14 school records. During his high school career, he scored more than 1,500 career points and while grabbing more than 1,000 career rebounds.

In his senior season, James averaged 19.5 points, 14 rebounds, 2.8 blocked shots, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game, earning 2015 Florida 5A second-team all-state honors. James also led the team to a 32-2 record in his final year, which culminated with a trip to the Florida Class 5A state tournament semifinals. In addition to his accomplishments, James made 65 3-point field goals in his final two seasons at Tarpon Springs.
