Foster Named Big South Freshman of the Week

For the second time in three weeks, freshman attacker Kayla Foster has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week. Foster garners the award for contests played during April 18-24.

Kayla Foster continues to pace the offense in points and assists. Foster accumulated 14 points this week off five goals and nine assists. The Pennsylvania native also chipped in seven ground balls and one caused turnover.

In Wednesday's 20-4 victory at Radford, Foster netted two goals and dished out six assists. Foster's assist tally marked the second most assists in a single contest in program history. The freshman attacker backed up Wednesday's outing with another strong performance on Saturday against Presbyterian. Foster netted three goals and recorded three assists in Liberty's 21-6 victory over the Blue Hose.

For the season, Foster has accumulated a team-high 50 points as well as a team-best 28 assists. The Pennsylvania attacker has also chipped in 22 goals, ranking third on the squad.

Foster and the Lady Flames return to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. when No. 5 seeded Liberty travels to Conway, S.C., to square off against No. 4 seeded Coastal Carolina in the Big South Lacrosse Championship quarterfinals.
