Javelin thrower Denzel Pratt will join the Liberty men's track & field team this spring.
Liberty Track & Field Head Coach Brant Tolsma announced that javelin thrower Denzel Pratt has signed to attend Liberty University, beginning in January.
Pratt, who boasts a javelin personal best of 220-7, will be eligible to join the Flames' roster this spring. The Bahamas native will give Liberty its third 200-foot javelin thrower on this year's roster, along with redshirt senior Steve Feister (225-11) and junior decathlete Zach Davis (202-2).
"Denzel Pratt will be joining an already strong 2016 men's recruiting class," stated Tolsma. "Along with Steve Feister, he should give Liberty one of the best javelin duos in the NCAA. Denzel should strengthen Coach Henderson's already unmatched Flame Throwers, who appear poised to dominate the Big South Conference and impact the national scene."
Men's Signee Denzel Pratt (Eleuthera, Bahamas) – Pratt won back-to-back Penn Relays high school boys' javelin titles in 2014 and 2015 for St. Augustine's College. His winning throw of 220-7 in 2014 was the sixth-longest in meet history. Pratt also threw the high school javelin 232-6 at the 2013 IAAF World Youth Championships, where he placed 11th.
