Lady Flames Advance One Spot in NFHCA Coaches Poll

Week 4 NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll

The Liberty Lady Flames field hockey squad leaped one position in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll, moving to No. 12 overall.

The Lady Flames' position in the NFHCA Coaches Poll marks the fourth consecutive week that Liberty has been stationed in the national rankings.

The 6-3 Lady Flames also boast the No. 8 ranking in the NCAA Field Hockey RPI listings.

Liberty finished the weekend with a 1-1 record with a win over then No. 15 Old Dominion on Friday and a loss to then No. 11 Boston College on Sunday. On Friday, the Lady Flames traveled to Norfolk, Va., to take on the Lady Monarchs. Liberty rode two first-half goals by Natalie Barr en route to a 2-1 victory over Old Dominion.

On Sunday, the Lady Flames hosted the Eagles of Boston College at Liberty Field Hockey Field. Hannah Jones knotted the contest at two apiece in the 52nd minute of regulation following the penalty corner. However, Boston College had the final say when Emily McCoy netted the game-winning goal in the second overtime period, handing Liberty a tough 3-2 loss.

The Lady Flames have just one contest this week as they travel to Philadelphia, Pa., to take on Temple at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
