Coming off a successful campaign in his first year of professional basketball, former Liberty men's basketball forward Antwan Burrus will enter his second season after recently signing with Juventus Salto in Uruguay.

As a member of CS Dinamo Bucuresti in Romania last season, Burrus helped lead his team to a second place finish in Liga 1 standings with an 8-2 record and a 23-4 overall mark. Due to his performance, Burrus was voted All-Romanian Liga I Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and named to the first team.

The forward paced the league in scoring, averaging 23.0 ppg and was second in rebounding, pulling down nearly 9.8 boards per game (team leader). In addition, Burrus also led Liga 1 in blocked shots (1.4 bpg) and was fifth in steals (2.1 spg).

Instrumental in guiding Dinamo to the finals of the Liga I tournament, Burrus led the team with 25 points in the championship game. Although Dinamo led midway through the fourth quarter, undefeated league leader Phoenix Galati rallied for the 85-82 victory.

Despite the narrow defeat, Burrus' play helped promote Dinamo to the top national league in Romania next season.

Burrus, a 6-6, 235-pound forward from Winterville, N.C., spent five seasons with the Flames (2009-10 through 2013-14). He saved his best season for last, averaging a team-high 13.0 ppg and pulling down 5.3 rpg during the 2013-14 campaign.

For his collegiate career, Burrus finished second all-time at Liberty in blocked shots (124), 10th in rebounds (616) and 18th in points (1,170). He is one of four Flames ever to score 1,000 points, grab 600 rebounds and block 100 shots, joining Peter Aluma, Julius Nwosu and Willard DeShazor in that exclusive club.
