• LHP Shawn Clowers leads the Big South Conference and is tied for third in the nation in wins with an 9-3 record. He leads the Flames with 15 appearances.

• Sunday, Clowers pitched the first complete game of his career, scattering six hits in a 3-0 win over Gardner-Webb.

• 1B Alex Close posted his fifth three-hit game and scored a run in 5-0 win over Gardner-Webb, Friday. Close leads the Flames with 20 multiple-hit games and has reached base in 34 consecutive games.

Lyons Garners 3rd Big South Pitcher of the Week Honor
• Flames left-hander Jared Lyons was named the Big South Conference Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season, Monday. Lyons was given the award for games played March 20-26.

• The senior turned in a dominating pitching performance, leading the Flames to a 5-0 victory over Gardner-Webb, Friday evening at Liberty Baseball Stadium.

• Lyons threw his second shutout of the season, giving up one hit, which came on the first pitch of the contest.

• The left-hander moved to 7-1 on the year, striking out nine batters and walking three. Lyons retired 16 consecutive batters at one point in the game.

• Lyons was previously named the Big South Pitcher of the Week twice this season. He was the Big South Pitcher of the Week for games played March 16-22 and March 30-April 5.
