A strong field awaits Liberty this weekend at the 2015 Linger Longer Invitational, a 54-hole event co-hosted by Kennesaw State and Mercer.

The two-day tournament will be contested at the Great Waters Golf Club in Greensboro, Ga. Play begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning with 36 holes of continuous action scheduled for the par 72, 7,073 course. Sunday's final 18 holes will be staggered off tees No. 1 and No. 10, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The Flames have participated in this event each of the last three years, spotlighted by a fifth-place showing at last year's tournament.

Liberty (281-291-302) shared fifth place last year with co-tournament host Mercer (278-287-309), each carding a 10-over par 874.

This year's 15-team field features an entire field of teams that are currently ranked in the top 100 in the latest Golfstat national rankings.

The field is spotlighted No. 3 Texas, No. 15 Oklahoma, No. 20 North Carolina, two-time defending national champion No. 24 Alabama, No. 30 Clemson and No. 35 Georgia.

Georgia was the tournament victor in 2014 .The Bulldogs carded a 27-under par 837 (278-278-281) to finish 10 shots ahead of Alabama's 17-under par 847 (281-275-291).

Liberty's Mathieu Fenasse has participated in each of Liberty's last three showings, posting a pair of top 25 finishes each of the last two events.

The senior has posted a 73.13 stroke average in eight career rounds, including four of eight rounds being played below pair. Last year, he finished tied for 25th place with a 3-over par 219 (71-71-77), while he finished tied for 10th with a 1-under par 143 (73-70) in a rain-shortened 36-hole event in 2013.

On the season, Fenasse leads the Flames with a 72.76 stroke average. He is coming off his best showing of the season when he finished tied for fourth place with a 6-under par 204 (68-67-69) at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.

Liberty will field the same starting five golfers that it did at last week's Cleveland Golf Palmetto (Fenasse, along with freshman golfers Hutson Chandler, Adam Eineving, Isaiah Logue and Payton Taylor).

The starting five finished the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate with a seventh-place finish, which included an 11th place finish by Isaiah Logue, who carded a 4-under par 206 (70-68-68).
