The Liberty Lady Flames tennis squad looks to improve to 2-0 in conference play tomorrow when they travel to Asheville, N.C. to take on the UNC Asheville Bulldogs at noon. The contest will take place at the Asheville Racquet Club.
Liberty is off to its best 10-game start with an 8-2 record. In their most recent contest, the Lady Flames bested conference foe Longwood, 5-2, in both squads' Big South opener. With a win tomorrow, Liberty would improve to 2-0 in conference play for the second consecutive year.
Asheville enters the contest with an untarnished 6-0 record. Five of the Bulldogs first six matches have been played at home. In their most recent contest, Asheville defeated Radford, 4-3, in its Big South opener on Feb. 21 at the Asheville Racquet Club.
The Lady Flames are 11-4 all-time against the Bulldogs, with the most recent contest falling in Liberty's favor, 7-0, at the Sports Racket on March 28, 2014. Entering tomorrow's matchup, the Lady Flames have bested Asheville in four straight contests.
Following tomorrow's match, the Lady Flames will return to action next Friday when they travel to Elon, N.C. to take on the Elon Phoenix. Liberty is 0-4 all-time against Elon, with the last match being a 5-2 loss in Elon, N.C. on April 14, 2007.
