As the Liberty swimming & diving team continues its training during the 2014-15 campaign, Nick Pierce of the Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) caught up with freshman Prudence Rooker.

Rooker, a native of Forest Grove, Ore., has made an immediate impact for the Lady Flames this season. She has already entered the program's all-time top five in three events. She was named CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week on November 4, after posting two individual event victories and swimming on Liberty's winning 200 medley relay during a home win over Richmond on Oct. 31. For the season, Rooker has recorded Liberty's fastest times in both the 100 breaststroke (1:05.51) and 200 IM (2:05.96).

Rooker comes from a swimming family, as all four of her siblings have competed in collegiate swimming. Her older brother, Gabriel, swam at LSU, while brothers Daniel and Jonathon Rooker both swam at Division III power Kenyon College. Her older sister, Sharon, is a senior on the swimming team at Stevens Institute of Technology.

The Lady Flames (8-3, 1-0 CCSA) will next compete at James Madison on Jan. 17. The meet, held at Savage Natatorium, will begin at noon.
