As the calendar winds down to the final days of 2014, the Liberty Flames Sports Network is looking back at the moments that made this athletics year special for Flames Nation.

The series continues today by looking at Moment No. 7, Liberty's swimming & diving team capturing the program's first-ever Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association title (CCSA).

During its first three years as a program, Liberty swimming & diving continued to show improvement and set its sights on chasing down perennial conference favorite Florida Golf Coast in 2014. The Eagles entered last season's CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships as the conference's five-time defending champions.

The Lady Flames, who had finished as the runner-up at the conference title event in 2012 and 2013, jumped out to an early lead on Day 1 of the four-day event. They maintained the lead heading into the final session on Day 4 at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn.

Late in the evening session, Jess Reinhardt defended her CCSA title in the 200 fly, setting a new conference and program record to win the event with a time of 1:56.79. Reinhardt finished first in the 200 fly, while teammates Bethany Kennon finished fourth, Hannah Wakeley finished fifth and Ranndi Grubbs finished 10th to seal Liberty's title run.

The Lady Flames won the team title with 732.5 points, defeating Florida Gulf Coast by 14 points, as the Eagles scored 718.5 points. Georgia Southern (423), Davidson (406) and Incarnate Word (336) followed in third through fifth.

For the meet as a whole, Liberty recorded 18 podium finishes, nine B cuts, one A cut (200 medley relay), six CCSA records, six meet records and 16 program records. Liberty earned podium finishes in every swimming event contested at the meet.
