Following the conclusion of the fall swimming & diving season, Nick Pierce of Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) had a chance to catch up with fifth-year head coach Jake Shellenberger.

The Lady Flames went 6-2 in dual meet action this fall, including 1-0 in conference meets. Liberty picked up a win over a major conference opponent for the third year in a row, downing Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore., on Oct. 10.

Several Lady Flames are highly ranked on the CCSA's performance list this season. In addition, junior Kendall Hough and freshman Prudence Rooker have both been named CCSA Swimmer of the Week this year.

The Lady Flames open the New Year in Fort Myers, Fla., with a training trip, which will culminate in the Florida Gulf Coast Quad Meet that features the two premier teams in the CCSA. Liberty will face FGCU, the team that the Lady Flames defeated in 2014 to claim its first-ever CCSA Championship. Florida Gulf Coast had won the previous five CCSA titles in a row.
