Complete Notes - Game 43 - George Mason

The Game

  The Liberty University Flames (26-16, 8-4 Big South) host the George Mason University Patriots (21-19, 10-9 CAA) in the final game of an eight-game homestand for the Flames, Tuesday, April 24, at Worthington Stadium. The non-conference game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Series Against George Mason
      The Flames and Patriots will be meeting for the 52nd time on the baseball diamond Tuesday afternoon.  George Mason holds a 29-22 advantage all-time since 1976.  
     Liberty edged the Patriots, 5-4, earlier this season at Raymond "Hap" Sphuler Field in Fairfax, Va. on March 28.  The Flames took both games from George Mason last season, downing the Patriots, 11-2, at Worthington Stadium and 18-4 in Fairfax.

The Last Time Out
      Liberty completed a three-game sweep of Big South rival Radford with a 13-5 victory Sunday afternoon. Designated hitter Tim Nanry drove in four runs and outfielder P.K. Keller went 3-for-3, scoring two runs and knocking in three others in the win. Liberty starter Michael Solbach was the beneficiary of the Flames' offensive support as the right-hander ran his record to 6-2 on the season. Garrett Young also had three hits on the afternoon for Liberty.
    The Flames had taken the previous two games with the Highlanders, 16-3 and 13-1.
Flames on the Radio
      This season, the Flames Sports Network plans to broadcast 20 Liberty baseball regular season games. Games will air live on WWMC 90.9 FM "The Light" and on the World Wide Web at both and The station  plans to broadcast Tuesday's contest with George Mason. The broadcast is scheduled to begin around 3 p.m.
