David Stokes picked up his seventh win of the season, Saturday.

Liberty starter David Stokes allowed one run over seven innings and for the second straight day, the Flames pounded out 14 hits on their way to a 13-1 victory over the Radford Highlanders in a Big South Conference game, Saturday afternoon at Worthington Stadium.

With their third straight win, the Flames move their record to 25-16 overall and 7-4 in the conference. Radford drops to 8-27 on the year and 1-13 in Big South play.

Stokes (Jr., RHP, Locust Grove, Okla.) gave up one run on nine hits to run his record to 7-4 on the season. His seven victories leads the Flames' pitching staff. Radford starter Will Naylor took the loss to fall to 3-5 on the year. Naylor allowed five runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Liberty opened the scoring in the third inning. Leadoff hitter Kenneth Negron (So., 2B, Kingwood, Texas) tripled to open the frame and scored on a RBI ground out by P.K. Keller (Jr., LF, Clearwater, Fla.) for an early 1-0 advantage.

In the top of the fourth, the Highlanders plated their lone run of the day to knot the score at 1-1. Catcher Nate Toth singled and advanced to third on back-to-back wild pitches. He then scored on a ground out by second baseman Jason Eason.

Liberty took the lead for good in the fifth frame. David Giammaresi (R-Jr., 3B, Coral Springs, Fla.) singled to lead off the inning and advanced to third base as the Radford right-fielder dropped a pop fly by Negron. With runners at the corners, a balk plated Giammaresi with the Flames' first run of the frame. Garrett Young (Jr., CF, Fountain Valley, Calif.) followed with a single to chase home Negron, making it 3-1 Liberty. Two batters later, Phil John (Sr., RF, Linwood, N.J.) singled to score Young and give the Flames a 4-1 advantage.

In the sixth, Liberty broke open the game. With one out and runners on first and second, Errol Hollinger (So., C, Upland, Calif.) ripped a double into the left field corner, plating both runners. After the catcher moved to third on a wild pitch, Keller singled to chase him home for a 7-1 lead. Back-to-back wild pitches allowed Negron, who had been hit by a pitch, to score and Keller to move to third. Young then lifted a sacrifice fly to deliver the Flames' left fielder for an 8-1 advantage.

Liberty tacked on four more in the eighth. Pinch hitter Cory Johnson (Fr., C, Lake Worth, Fla.) drove home two runs with a RBI single and a throwing error by the right fielder on the play allowed another run to score. A sacrifice fly by Shawn Teufel (So., 1B, Tequesta, Fla.), who had entered in the seventh at first base, closed out the scoring.

Young, Giammaresi and Tim Nanry (Sr., DH, Rochester, N.Y.) had two hits apiece for the Flames, who had 10 different players have hits in the game. Toth, Alex Gregory and Raphael Turner each had two hits in the contest for the Highlanders.

Radford and Liberty will met in the final game of their Big South three-game series tomorrow afternoon at Worthington Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
