The Liberty Lady Flames field hockey squad notched the program's 50th win, defeating Georgetown 7-0 in Tuesday afternoon's regular-season finale at Liberty Field Hockey Field.

With the victory, Liberty finishes the 2014 regular season with an 11-7 mark and a perfect 4-0 record in conference play. Georgetown falls to 5-11 on the season.

From the opening minute to the closing seconds, Liberty controlled play. The Lady Flames outshot the Hoyas 36-1, including a 23-0 advantage in shots on goal. The Lady Flames' 36 shots tied a program record for shots in a single game, set on Sept. 27, 2013 against Saint Louis at Liberty Field Hockey Field.

Liberty jumped on the board first in the 17th minute when Hannah Jones capitalized on the team's fifth penalty corner. Jones inserted the ball to Serena Barr who returned the pass quickly back to Jones. Jones flicked the ball into the back of the net before Georgetown goalie Rachel Skonecki could locate the ball.

The Lady Flames extended the lead to two in the 23rd minute when Ashlee Krulock netted her 10th goal of the season, tying her personal best for goals in a season, set in 2013. On the team's sixth penalty corner of the afternoon, Helen Doolittle passed the ball to the right post where Krulock redirected the ball into the back of the net for the 2-0 lead.

Liberty built on the 2-0 advantage in the second half, pouring in five goals in the final 35 minutes of the regular season.

The first of five second half goals came from the Lady Flames' leading scorer Sarah Gipe, netting her 15th goal of the season in the 39th minute. Gipe corralled the ball after the Hoyas mishandled it in their own circle, placing the ball into the back of the net for the 3-0 edge.

Two of the final four goals of the game were assisted by Serena Barr, who tallied a career-best three assists on the day. Barr's previous best of two assists was set in the Lady Flames' 5-1 victory over Pacific on Oct. 23, giving the sophomore five assists in the last two games. The sophomore's three assists ties Krulock's program single-game assists record set on Oct. 14, 2014 in a 6-2 victory over Appalachian State.

With the victory, Mallory Cuccio notches her career-best 11th win of the season, surpassing her previous high of 10 set back in 2012.

The Liberty defense stood strong throughout the entire contest, surrendering just one shot in the 65th minute.

The Lady Flames' shutout win was the 50th in program history and in the head coaching career of Jodi Murphy. Liberty is now 50-29 in its fourth season of existence.

The Lady Flames return to action next week, attempting to defend their title at the 2014 NorPac Championship Tournament. The tournament will be hosted by Pacific in Stockton, Calif. Nov. 6-8. The full bracket will be released later this week.
