Following a year in which his team made a second consecutive trip to an NCAA Regional, LFSN's Nick Pierce sat down with Liberty baseball head coach and 2014 Big South Coach of the Year Jim Toman for a look back at this past season.

Liberty posted a 41-18 record in 2014, receiving its first ever at-large selection to an NCAA Regional.  In addition, Toman's Flames made back-to-back appearances at an NCAA Regional also for the first time in program history. With 41 wins, Liberty recorded the second most wins and posted the fourth 40-plus win season in in program history.

The Flames set a program high for Big South Conference victories with a 23-3 mark in 2014, claiming the conference's regular season title. At one point during the year, Liberty won 20 consecutive Big South contests.

At season's end, Toman's Flames swept the conference's awards.  Second baseman Ryan Seiz was named the Big South Player of the Year, while right-hander Trey Lambert was selected as the conference's Pitcher of the Year.  Right-hander Parker Bean was named as the Big South Freshmen of the Year and Toman was voted by his fellow coaches as the conference's Coach of the Year.
