Jess Reinhardt placed 52nd in the 50 free at the NCAA Championships, Thursday.
Sophomore Jess Reinhardt began Liberty's participation at the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, competing in the 50 free on day one, Thursday at Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn. Reinhardt touched the wall in 23.00, finishing in 52nd place overall, as she defeated swimmers from North Carolina and Texas. She entered the meet with a seed time of 22.76, a time she obtained at the 2014 CCSA Women's Swimming & Diving Championship. The native of Gatton, Queensland, Australia, competing at the national meet for the second year in a row, will swim the 100 fly tomorrow, while contesting the 200 fly on Saturday. She won the CCSA title in both the 100 and 200 fly this past month. The Lady Flames continue their time in Minneapolis with a busy day tomorrow, beginning at noon (EDT) with prelims of the 200 medley relay. Liberty's 200 medley relay, consisting of Reinhardt, senior Emilie Kaufman, sophomore Kendall Hough and junior Meghan Babcock, is seeded 23rd entering the meet. Reinhardt, seeded 17th, will compete in the 100 fly, while 21st-seeded Kaufman will swim in the 100 breaststroke.
