Sophomore Jess Reinhardt was named CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, Wednesday.
Following a week in which she posted three event victories, Liberty sophomore Jess Reinhardt has been named the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week. Reinhardt, a native of Gatton, Queensland, Australia, is the third Lady Flame to earn Swimmer of the Week honors this season. She joins Emilie Kaufman (Oct. 16) and Meghan Babcock (Oct. 30) as Liberty's Swimmer of the Week honorees in 2013. The Lady Flames have won the award after each of their first three weekends of competition this fall. Reinhardt helped the Lady Flames defeat Vanderbilt of the SEC on Friday, setting a pair of LaHaye Aquatic Center pool records in the process. She won the 100 fly in 54.96, and swam 2:06.00 to claim victory in the 200 fly. The sophomore clocked a 24.49 split during the third leg of Liberty's victorious 200 medley relay (1:45.64) against the Commodores. On Saturday against Richmond, Reinhardt won the 100 fly with a 55.47 clocking. She also swam the third leg of Liberty's 400 medley relay in 54.25 versus the Spiders, as the Lady Flames recorded a time of 3:52.61. For the season, Reinhardt holds the top 100 fly time in the CCSA, 54.26, which currently ranks 16th in NCAA Division I. The Lady Flames will next compete in the Virginia Tech Invitational, held Nov. 21-23 at Christiansburg Aquatics Center.
