Liberty women's tennis head coach Jeff Maren has announced the addition of Belen Rivera to the Lady Flames' roster. Rivera, who was born in Bolivia, currently resides in Salta, Argentina. This past season, Rivera competed for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
While playing for the No. 29 ranked Golden Hurricane, Rivera posted an 8-1 singles record and a 7-7 doubles mark. Rivera was ranked as high as No. 3 in Bolivia during her junior career and No. 568 in the ITF world junior rankings. Rivera holds a 20-6 career ITF singles record, including a victory against No. 3 Texas A&M's Ines Deheza, who was ranked No. 9 in the ITF world junior rankings at the time of the match.
Rivera was a part of the Bolivia Fed Cup Team in 2012. She won a pair of ITF singles tournaments and made one other finals appearance. Rivera reached two ITF doubles tournament finals as well.
