Liberty Women's Basketball Head Coach Carey Green has announced that Jaitesha Hanson has signed a national letter of intent to attend Liberty University for the 2013-14 academic year.

Hanson (G, 5-9, Brandon, Fla.) becomes the fourth member of the Lady Flames' 2013-14 freshman class, joining Moriah Begin (G, 5-7, Milwaukee, Wis.), Jacquelyn Simone Brown (G, 5-11, Land O' Lakes, Fla.) and Mickayla Sanders (F, 6-0, Clayton, N.C.).

"I signed with Liberty because I grew up going to Christian schools and loved that type of environment," Hanson remarked. "I also chose Liberty because they have a great basketball program."

A left-handed wing player, Hanson was a part of successful teams during her high school career, going 93-21 and making two trips to the Florida Final Four. Both of those visits came with Seffner Christian Academy, during Hanson's sophomore and senior campaigns.

This past season, Hanson averaged 17 ppg and 7 rpg, earning team MVP honors for the 28-3 Seffner Christian Crusaders. She was an all-state selection by both the Florida Prospects and Florida Association of Basketball Coaches (FABC). Included on the ESPN Hoopgurlz Top 100 Watch List for 2013, Hanson finished her high school career with 2,001 points.

As a junior, Hanson attended Riverview High School, tallying 19 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 3.9 spg. She was named first team All-Hillsborough County by both Bay Area Hoops and the Tampa Bay Times while helping Riverview go 21-5.

Hanson was the top scorer in Hillsborough County as a sophomore at Seffner Christian and became the first player in county history to reach 1,000 points during her sophomore campaign. The southpaw averaged 24 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 3.7 apg and 5.7 spg for the 23-8 Crusaders, who advanced to the state semifinals. Hanson was named to the FABC and Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) all-state squads.

Hanson's freshman season saw her post 14 ppg, 5 rpg and 3.8 spg for Wharton High School, which went 21-5 and won the district title. She was tabbed team MVP and earned the best defense award for the Wildcats.

What They're Saying about Jaitesha Hanson
"Tesh is a great addition to our program! She has flown under the recruiting radar this past year due to injuries. Currently she is healthy, determined and hungry for the opportunity to compete. Her skill set at the wing will address the void left from the graduation of several all-conference performers. Tesh is a good defender, has a high basketball IQ and possesses excellent ball handling skills, while displaying a scoring punch by slashing to the basket. Tesh exhibits first-class character and will impact our program in many ways. We are excited and blessed to have her choose Liberty."
Carey Green, Liberty Head Women's Basketball Coach

"The two seasons that Tesh Hanson played at Seffner Christian, we won the district championship and made it to the Final Four. She scored 2,000 points during her high school career while showing great determination in overcoming a knee injury. Tesh has a great understanding of the game of basketball, and this should help her in playing as a freshman. Her desire to win will transfer to her teammates at Liberty."
Greg Fawbush, Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach at Seffner Christian Academy

"Tesh Hanson is a coach's dream. She can score, rebound, defend multiple positions and works hard on her game. She's a tough competitor and most importantly a good kid who makes those around her better."
Al Honor, AAU Coach for Central Florida Elite
