After playing its last two games at the friendly confines of the Liberty Lacrosse Field, the Lady Flames lacrosse squad takes to the road to face Delaware State on Friday, starting at 4 p.m.

A Look at the Lady Flames Liberty will look to snap a two-game losing streak, after winning its season opener versus Stetson. The Lady Flames fell to Lafayette this past Sunday, 16-10, dropping to 1-2 overall on the season.
Liberty fought back from a 7-2 deficit and trimmed it to an 8-6 score heading into halftime. Lafayette outscored the Lady Flames in the second half, 8-4, to take home the road victory.
Liberty was paced by Nina Dunay and Kallie Britton, who each scored two goals apiece. For the junior Dunay, it was her third consecutive two-goal game, while Britton, a freshman, has recorded a pair of goals twice this season.
Captains Jen Freymond and Amber Nichols topped the Lady Flames with three ground balls each against Lafayette. Sophomore Kacie Fogle led the squad with three draw controls. A trio of Liberty starters, Dunay, Nichols and Morgan Becker, caused a pair of turnovers each.
Kristin Boland made her first career start in goal for the Lady Flames, before being replaced by Kristen Masullo. Boland made six saves in 16:05, while Masullo recorded 10 stops in 43:55.
For the season, Liberty's Sam Struss leads the team with nine points (four goals, five assists). The sophomore is eighth in the Big South conference in assists per game (1.67). A trio of Lady Flames, Dunay, Becker and Freymond, have scored six goals apiece to top the squad.
Redshirt senior Chloe McIntosh's seven ground balls pace the team and her 2.33 ground balls per contest are good for 10th in the Big South. Jen Moyer has secured 10 draw controls and is tied for third in the Big South in draw controls per game with 3.33.
Dunay and Nichols are tied for first on the squad with four caused turnovers apiece.
Masullo ranks first in the Big South in saves per game (12.33), tied for third in goals against average (9.88) and also tied for third in save percentage (.578).
A Look at Delaware State The Hornets are competing in their first season of lacrosse as a program and enter Friday's matchup looking for their first win of the year. Delaware State is 0-2 on the season after falling this past Sunday to Detroit Mercy, 15-1.
Kiyanna Brown, Emily Peets and Miranda Hawkins have each scored one goal to lead the team. Peets and Hawkins are tied for the team lead in draw controls with five apiece. Goalie Rhian Sellers' nine ground balls tops the squad. Kirkland Lewis has a team-leading four caused turnovers.
Sellers has played every minute in goal for the Hornets and has recorded 15 saves, while surrendering 36 goals for a save percentage of .294.
Looking Ahead Liberty returns to Lynchburg for its next contest on March 7 versus St. Francis (Pa.). Game time at the Liberty Lacrosse Field is slated for 3 p.m.
