Charlene Hibbert is the Big South's third-ranked long jumper.
Some of the Big South's top field event performers will be on hand, providing spectators a preview of next week's meet. The men's throwing events promise to be especially competitive, beginning with the afternoon's initial discipline, the men's weight throw. Liberty and Radford throwers currently own the conference's top four marks in the weight throw, headed by Liberty's Jon Hart (Jr., Wyomissing, Pa.), who threw 61-8.5 on Saturday at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. The event is set to begin at 4 p.m. On the women's side, the long jump, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., will be one of the featured events. Liberty, Radford and VMI boast four of the top five long jumpers in the Big South. The Lady Flames' Charlene Hibbert (Jr., Mississauga, Ontario) currently ranks third on the conference performance list with her season-best 18-9.75 effort. Two weeks after opening their respective indoor seasons with a stellar 3,000-meter performance at the On Track Open, brothers Josh (Jr., Peru, N.Y.) and Jordan McDougal (R-So., Peru, N.Y.) will travel to Seattle to run the 5,000 meters at Saturday's Washington Husky Classic. The race, expected to feature some of the top collegiate runners in America, will begin at 3:30 p.m. EST.
