After a season of offensive fireworks never before seen in the history of the football program, it was the Flames' defensive unit that stepped up to seal Liberty's first-ever Big South title with a 31-0 win over Gardner-Webb.

Marshal Ausberry is one of the Flames' starting front five players on the offensive line, securing the position last spring after transferring to Liberty from Virginia. At 6-6, 320 pounds, Ausberry is part of one of the largest and most productive offensive lines at the FCS level (6-5 and 297 pound average). The massive o-line was duly honored this year as each of the five were named to a Big South all-conference team.
