Liberty junior guard/forward Megan Frazee, tabbed MVP of this past weekend's National City Xavier Invitational, has garnered another award. Frazee has been named this week's Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.

With her team trailing host Xavier by 11 points in the second half of Sunday afternoon's National City Xavier Invitational championship game at the Cintas Center, Liberty junior Megan Frazee took over the game offensively. She scored 21 of her game-high 28 points after halftime, earning tournament MVP honors and leading the Lady Flames to a 61-56 victory and the tournament championship.

Sisters Megan and Moriah Frazee both fashioned double-doubles against Houston, Saturday evening at Xavier's Cintas Center. The Cougars made a valiant comeback attempt in the closing minutes, but the Lady Flames hung on for their second win of the National City Xavier Invitational, 70-61.

The Liberty women's basketball team shot a season-best 55.2 percent from the field and all 11 players scored during Friday evening's 92-52 win over McNeese State, the opening game of the National City Xavier Invitational. Four Liberty starters reached double figures, headed by Megan Frazee's 21 points, in the contest played at the Cintas Center.

The Liberty Lady Flames (2-1, 0-0 Big South) will attempt to bounce back from a tight loss at Virginia Tech in a trio of games at the National City Xavier Invitational, this Friday through Sunday. Liberty will meet first-time opponents McNeese State (0-5, 0-0 Southland), Houston (1-3, 0-0 Conference USA) and Xavier (2-1, 0-0 Atlantic 10) at the event. The host Musketeers are currently receiving votes in both the AP and ESPN/USA Today Top 25 polls.

Liberty Head Women's Basketball Coach Carey Green has added a talented scorer to his current recruiting class, which now numbers five players. Devon Brown, a shooting guard/small forward from Waynesboro, Va., has signed a national letter of intent for the 2008-09 academic year.
