In an evenly played contest in which no team could gain the upper hand in regulation, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers scored 32 seconds into overtime to edge the Liberty Lady Flames, 2-1, in a Big South Conference contest Sunday afternoon at CCU Soccer Field.
Liberty men's golf finished the first day of play at Elon's Sea Trail Intercollegiate Invitational sitting in 19th place out of 20 teams and 21 strokes off the leader James Madison who posted a 284 for a two-stroke lead over Western Carolina.

Liberty University junior Josh McDougal (Peru, N.Y.) remained unbeaten in his collegiate cross country career outside of the NCAA Division I national meet, holding off a talented field at Saturday's Roy Griak Invitational at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn. McDougal's efforts helped the Flames finish 14th out of 34 teams.
Liberty opened Big South Conference play on the right foot Saturday afternoon (Sept. 23), sweeping in-state rival Radford by a 3-0 (30-20, 30-24, 30-17) count. The match was the Lady Flames' first home contest of the season after opening the campaign with 11-straight matches away from the Vines Center.
