This is your Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Monday, October 3, 2022, I’m Nick Pierce.

Starting with football – the Flames pick up a big win on the road against an in-state foe. Saturday night, Liberty knocked off Old Dominion, 38-24 in Norfolk. Flames running back Dae Dae Hunter had 121 rushing yards and two touchdowns – and he also caught a third touchdown. Despite dealing with injuries at quarterback this year, Hunter and the Flames are now 4-1 after five games.

“The bond in between us players, us teammates, from the offense to the defense – we come into the locker, we come in, at halftime we come in and we’re talking like, ‘We’ve got to put the foot on the pedal. We’ve got to keep going.’ we just encourage each other the whole time and we already know going into the game, we’re fighting for four quarters.”

Next, Liberty travels to UMass this Saturday.

Elsewhere, the Lady Flames soccer team is now on a five-game winning streak. Sunday, Liberty downed North Alabama, 4-1 at Osborne Stadium in Lynchburg.
