In this program, you’ll have the opportunity to analyze linguistic data across several world languages – allowing you to see how these languages differ and what patterns they have in common. What Will You Learn in Liberty University’s M.A. in Global Studies – Linguistics Program?

In this program, you will take several core global studies courses that are designed to help prepare you to work in multicultural contexts. You’ll explore the power of story and communication in predominantly oral cultures and learn how to contextualize various ideas for people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Within the linguistics specialization, you’ll have 2 different tracks to choose from in order to customize your degree. One track is designed for those who do not have undergraduate coursework in linguistics, while the other track is for those who do – and who want to build on their previous studies to gain advanced linguistic knowledge.

Depending on which track you pursue, you may study phonetics, phonology, semantics, pragmatics, world language, or applied language studies. That way, whether you’re an experienced professional or just starting out in this field, you can get the training you need to pursue your career goals.
