The practicum in Jamaican schools furnishes opportunities for participation in content area activities, developing teaching materials, observing content area instruction and provides teacher candidates with a field experience and reflective opportunities to enhance skills in both curriculum and pedagogy. Teacher candidates plan, construct and implement lessons for instruction and create activities for the lessons allowing for diversity among the students in several grade level/ability level/cultural differences. Purposeful reflection is journaled based on the field experience, before and during the Jamaica trip. A true Jamaican cultural experience is provided in addition to teaching through participation in professional development activities in the areas of government, local culture, community outreach and church partnerships.

Travel to Rwanda this Spring Break as Liberty University partners with Compassion International to provide students the opportunity serve and spend time with Rwandan children sponsored through Compassion. Receive CSER credit by taking part in various service projects and ministries while being immersed in the local culture and give students a deeper understanding, respect, and love for the Rwandan people.
If you choose to participate in a Study Tour, you will visit significant historic locations and interact with different cultures. See the Study Tour syllabus or contact email@example.com for details on how academic requirements are met by study tour activities.
Instead of completing your practicum in the U.S., serve overseas in a school along with other Liberty students. Earn course credit for the practicum during the trip.
