Non-Licensure

The School of Education through Liberty University Online offers several programs at the post-graduate level. The Education Specialist program prepares candidates to be competent, effective leaders with a Christian worldview who will model high standards and assume a leadership role in the field of education. This degree effective prepares leaders with a biblical worldview to assume roles in shaping the future direction of the policies, goals, and objectives of an education system whether it be in the college and university, business, or government setting.

Certain prerequisites may be required by Liberty University’s School of Education for those seeking to become candidates in the post-graduate program, specifically from candidates with a non-educational undergraduate background or those who meet the equivalent of an academic major in a liberal arts area.

Licensure options are available with the completion of additional requirements.


Requirements

  • General Information
    • Field Experiences: EDUC 703.
      • Field Experiences within EDUC 740 and 742 are required for candidates adding a licensure endorsement.
      • Elective courses may also require field experiences.
    • Capstone: EDUC 798
      • This course must be taken in the final semester. EDUC 798 is not transferrable into the Ed.D. program.
    • 3.0 GPA
