How COVID-19 Affects LU Send

Winter Break 2020-21 and Spring 2021 Travel

  • LU Send will run select study abroad, internship, and faculty led international programs in the Spring 2021 semester. LU Send has worked with trusted partners and in-country vendors to promote Liberty University’s standard of health and safety on all programs abroad. All students and faculty participating in Spring 2021 international programs will be required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test 5 days before traveling. Travelers will also be expected to abide by local and state quarantine guidelines upon arrival to their host country, and upon return to the US. LU Send is working diligently to ensure that all trip leaders and participants are well versed in overseas guidelines and expectations to ensure travelers are being respectful and responsible guests in host countries abroad.
  • Where deemed appropriate, based on state restrictions, LU Send will continue to run domestic programs by working closely with University and local officials to ensure all travel and quarantine requirements are being met in both the host state, and upon return. LU Send is avoiding travel to US “hot spots”, and will stay abreast of all local and CDC guidelines for domestic travel.

LU Send staff will work diligently to maintain physical distancing guidelines, reduce touchpoints, and sanitize common areas on a regular basis between guests.

Advising & Pre-Departure Sessions

  • LU Send will continue working to prepare students to travel abroad for the Spring 2021 semester. Students will be given the option to participate in virtual or in-person advising and pre-departure sessions. Face coverings will be required, with the exception of certain medical conditions, for all those who choose to attend sessions in-person, with physical distancing employed between students.

Trip Advertising

  • LU Send will continue to advertise and plan for Spring 2021 travel and beyond. In accordance with state guidelines, and encouraging physical distancing, LU Send staff will focus on promoting upcoming travel opportunities through classroom presentations. This will ensure that students still have access to relevant information while minimizing touchpoints for students and staff.
