    Michael is responsible for handling all financial transactions that take place within Club Sports. His primary involvement is overseeing any purchase transactions, contract management or negotiation, as well as overseeing business dealings between external vendors and the Club Sports Department. Other responsibilities include the oversight of internal revenue, as well assistance in budget management and financial planning for the department.

    Since beginning in this role, Michael has been hands on with the financial operations of each of our 40 Club Sports teams. More recently, his role in developing and executing strategies working alongside Alumni initiatives with Giving Day helped meet and exceed departmental goals in its inaugural year by 140%. This new undertaking has been instrumental in furthering the scope and level of both team operations as well as outreach for all Club Sports programs.

    Prior to this position Michael worked as the Operations Coordinator (2014-2015) and a Business Operations Graduate Assistant (2013-2014).

    Michael joined the coaching staff as the Defensive Coordinator in the fall of 2014 and has amassed a 38-22 record over 4 seasons. Zumpano has helped coach over 50+ games during his coaching career at LU. As an athlete, Michael served as a four-year team captain for the Men’s Lacrosse program from 2011-2014. He helped lead Liberty to its first SELC Championship in 2013 and an MCLA National Tournament Final Four bid in Division 2 before moving up to the MCLA Division 1 level the following season. His honors included SELC All-Conference honors in 2011, 2012 and 2013, as well as an HM All-American nod in 2013. With a passion for coaching and Flames lacrosse, Zumpano’s desire is to lead Flames defensive players to reach their full potential in becoming leaders on campus, on the field, and ultimately in their communities.
