By outshooting teams from Virginia Tech, Montreat (N.C.) College, East Carolina University, and a non-sanctioned club team in sporting clays and super sporting clays, Liberty defended its team title.
Individually, 362 out of the record-high 711 student-athletes on Liberty's Club Sports teams made the Fall Dean’s List with GPAs of 3.5 or higher and a total of 135 maintained perfect 4.0 averages.
During its third annual “Flames Giving Day” on Wednesday, Liberty's Club Sports department raised 99.7 percent of its targeted goal of $350,000 to support its 700-plus student-athletes on 44 teams.
As a means of generating revenue for its programs, Liberty's Club Sports department has taken the lead in preparing and selling concessions at Club Sports and Athletics events on campus this year.
The third annual Club Sports spiritual leadership retreat took 39 Liberty student-athletes and four staff members to the Peak’s Retreat & Adventure Center in Thaxton, Va., on Tuesday and Wednesday.
