Wyatt Campos, a 6-foot, 5-inch rising sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, who excelled in his first season as a member of Liberty University’s rifle team, is featured on this segment of “Meet the Player,” produced by the Club Sports videography staff.

Campos, who is studying mechanical engineering, enjoys everything about life at Liberty.

“The values that the school holds, they have a really good engineering program here, and I came for (College For A Weekend) CFAW once I was accepted and I really loved the atmosphere and the people here and that’s what really sold me,” he said.

Campos first started competing in rifle shooting as part of his military training during his sophomore year in high school and has been fine-tuning his shooting sights over the past four years, including on the Liberty Mountain Gun Club ranges throughout his freshman season.

“I was in ROTC in high school and my ROTC program had a shooting team,” Campos said. “I like shooting guns, it seemed fun, and I’ve stuck with it ever since then.”

He and his Flames and Lady Flames teammates thrived at the American Smallbore Shooting Association International Rifle Club National Championships in mid-April in Fort Wayne, Ind., firing personal best scores en route to a third-place team finish in the smallbore division and fourth-place showing in the air rifle event.
