September’s top trends
September can be considered a transition month, almost like a buffer between the seasons. With the cooler weather right around the corner, it’s time to gear up for some of the month’s favorites.
pumpkin all the way
What is one of the biggest fall staples you can think of? If you thought about pumpkin flavoring, you are correct! Beginning in late August or early September, restaurants and stores will bring out their variations on pumpkin-based items. Starbucks annually promotes its pumpkin spice latte, so be sure to swing by the Starbucks at the Montview Student Union or the Liberty University Bookstore to try it out!
Other delectable pumpkin items to try include pumpkin loaves or any local bakery’s pumpkin pie. The fall season is short, so make sure to get your pumpkin while you can.
Denim on denim
Denim, denim and more denim. The material has had a recent rise in popularity and fits well in this month’s favorites. It goes with almost everything, provides extra warmth for the cooler days and works well as a monochrome.
Denim vests are a great addition to any outfit and are perfect for class, Convocation or game days. Whether it’s for jeans or a denim dress, the fabric will be a must-have for this month’s fashion.
it’s time for gilmore girls
One form of entertainment that trends every fall is the hit 2000s show “Gilmore Girls.” The show follows a mom and daughter throughout their daily lives in the cute and quirky town of Stars Hollow. Between the spunky characters and interesting plot twists, it is a highly recommended watch.
“I always love watching the show in the fall,” sophomore Ella Kardos said. “It does a great job of romanticizing the season with the visuals and the vibe.”
Multiple episodes feature the fall aesthetic, making it the perfect show to start bingeing in September.
Skin care tips and tricks
As the season changes, so do skin care trends and needs. When the weather starts to get dryer, most people will experience the dreaded chapped lips. If this is a yearly problem for you, then keep reading. Consumers are raving about the Laneige lip sleeping mask and the Rhode peptide lip treatment.
“I love the scent and the quality of the Laneige lip mask,” sophomore Zoe Brightwell said. “I have the scent ‘Berry,’ and it works wonders!”
Both products come in a variety of flavors, with some matching the fall season. The most popular flavors include vanilla for the Laneige lip sleeping mask and toast for the Rhode peptide treatment.
Fall outdoor activities
Lynchburg in the fall is a beautiful venue for outdoor activities and picturesque views. The surrounding areas offer a plethora of seasonal activities, such as pumpkin picking, apple orchards and hiking. Morris Orchard allows you to pick your own apples, while Smith’s Pumpkin Patch has a list of fall-themed activities.
The mountainous region of Lynchburg also provides many locations to hike. Cole Mountain, Dragon’s Tooth and Sharp Top are some of the most popular destinations. If you need an opportunity to check out any of these locations, it might be a great idea to plan a hall trip.
As fall arrives, make sure to enjoy the beauty of the campus and all that comes with it.
